Carlee Hoffman of Cutlerville, a bilateral below-knee amputee since age three, was introduced to wheelchair basketball through the Junior Pacers while a student at South Christian High School and eventually became a two-time gold medalist in the Paralympic Games.

?In 2003 she was selected as an alternate to the U.S. Paralympics Women’s Wheelchair Basketball Team, made the team in 2004 and helped the team win the gold medal in the Paralympic Games in Athens, Greece. She played on three national championship collegiate teams while attending the University of Illinois, and in 2007 was the Most Valuable Player of her team.

In 2008 she again helped Team USA again win the gold medal in the Paralympics, this time in Beijing, China. She scored 10 points in the gold medal game against Germany.
