Don Eaddy earned 12 varsity letters in football, basketball and baseball at Ottawa Hills High School, was an All-American baseball player at the University of Michigan and made it to the Major League level with the Chicago Cubs. During his outstanding high school career, he was named All-State in both basketball and baseball. At the University of Michigan, he was also a multiple-sport athlete winning eight letters in baseball and basketball. He played football one year. He was All-Big Ten as a guard on the basketball team, and in 1955 as a standout third baseman hit .353 and led the Big Ten in stolen bases to earn All-American status in baseball. The Chicago Cubs signed him to a contract and he played professional baseball through 1960, though it was interrupted for part of three years after he was drafted and served in the U.S. Air Force. He played one season in the Major Leagues with the Cubs, appearing in 15 games in 1959. He died in 2008 at the age of 74.
