A tireless advocate and philanthropist, Peter F. Secchia has donated his time, talent and treasure to virtually every significant social, medical, political and athletic enterprise that helps define Grand Rapids and beyond. From humble beginnings as a kid growing up in New Jersey, he established a multi-billion dollar business and was appointed U.S. Ambassador to Italy.

He counts presidents and royalty as close personal friends, but his heart is also tied to inner city youth, urban schools, people with special needs – and his alma mater, Michigan State University.

As founder of the West Michigan Sports Commission and Chairman of the Executive Committee for Finance of the Millenium Park project, Peter’s influence and legacy of giving has forever changed the athletic landscape of his beloved West Michigan.
